Tithing Tuesday

Tithing typically means the payment of one’s income to a church, but it also means: the voluntary contribution or a small part of something. Too much emphasis is placed upon what we want, what we want to get and what we can get from someone else instead of what we can give. Tithing Tuesday is a format to share the ways that you donate, volunteer and assist others, be it a family member, neighbor, senior, parent in need, group or organization, homeless person etc.

Tithing comes in many forms such as: acts of love (cooking and cleaning for the family of a new mother), money (gifting a struggling student, start a scholarship fund), labor

(repairing the home of a senior or ill person), donations (clothes and furniture to a family who’s home burned or to a domestic violence shelter), talents (mentor and teach a young person, group or school). Tithing should be given in love with no agenda or expectation for anything in return, because “True giving needs no thanks”.
